Webinar Focuses on Compacts

AADB Leadership Addresses DH Audience

In a first-of-its-kind national webinar, Dental Hygienists from all over the US weighed in on their concerns regarding a compact in the profession.

The webinar, produced by CDCA-WREB-CITA, included representation by AADB and provided a review of the proposed compact language. You can view it here on YouTube or click the thumbnail image.

The AADB Dental and Dental Hygienist Licensure Compact was developed in collaboration with active dental board representatives this past fall.

AADB Executive Director Kimber Cobb, RDH, noted that participating Dental Hygienists were quick to point out the benefits the AADB Compact provides. “Speakers and comments in the chat were positive! Everyone appreciated that having two representatives from each jurisdiction on the AADB Compact Commission will provide potential Dental Hygiene representation.” Laura Richoux, RDH, an AADB Board Member, let the audience know the AADB Compact would not bring any additional fees to participating jurisdictions or their boards.

Additional comments highlighted the AADB Compact’s public protections concerning a criminal-free history, requirement of a hand skills examination to practice, and CE in any jurisdiction where licensed.

The AADB Compact models the Federation of State Medical Board (FSMB) Compact, effectively serving medical professionals while maintaining important state medical board protections and sovereignty.
