In a letter signed by the full Board of Directors, the American Association of Dental Boards announced the creation of a licensure portability compact to its membership.
The AADB Dental and Dental Hygienist Licensure Compact was developed in collaboration with active dental board representatives from across our member jurisdictions to meet the needs of licensure applicants while maintaining important public protections State Boards currently require and value. The AADB Compact models the Federation of State Medical Board (FSMB) Compact, effectively serving medical professionals while maintaining important state medical board protections and sovereignty.
Stakeholders from jurisdictions nationwide offered support for the compact. The compact is slated for a legislative debut in September, 2023.
